Just to update the comment in the FAQ Nathan quoted about the //c upgrade:
Both the serial and Unidisk free upgrades were discontinued by Apple in
early 1996. I work at an Apple dealer and saw the service notice come in
ending this (and other) "obsolete" upgrades. They probably ended it after I
arranged a slew of upgrades by spreading the word around through the club I
belong to.
No one has asked, yet, but if you are willing to pay for a //c logic board,
you can probably still get the upgrade. Of course, no one in his right mind
will pay the cost Apple will charge for a motherboard swap.
