   Tip: on irc, people may be logged in, but not around. If they
ignore you, it's not a deliberate slight. One common misconception
about irc that we try and drill into newbies' heads is "we are not
here to entertain you." If you don't see anyone, or people ignore you,
you got what you paid for-- nothing. 

   Also, on #appleiigs, the regulars are quite experts. We know where
to go for software; new ftp sites really don't interest us in the
least.
