It won't help increase your connection speeds, if that's what you're
asking. It will give you a higher port speed (realistically, up to 115,200
bps compared to 57,600 bps with the GS serial port) but the only time
you'll notice the difference is when transferring highly compressible
files. Your day-to-day modeming will not be noticeably faster.
That said, I get a pretty good speed increase with the Turbo ASB when
transferring things like unpacked text, sounds, MODs, etc.
Keep in mind that with port speeds this high, you might need to shift boot
to remove any background-task programs like clocks and screen blankers.
And an accelerator might help too. On my Zip 8/64 GS running a port speed
of 115,200 bps with ANSITerm, I very rarely lose any data. But in order to
get it to work at that speed with Spectrum, I have to shift boot. That's
not a knock against Spectrum, it's just that it's a desktop program and
is more susceptible to background task interference.
