I don't think I quite qualify as a "founder" of IRC #appleIIgs, my
presence on that channel only goes back some 4 or 5 years. It certainly
existed before I discovered it (at least, as far as I know). I didn't
use those exact words above, though I would agree it's not the same
atmosphere as it was years ago. Then again, few of the original regulars
are still there, and those that still are, no longer hold the same interest
in the IIgs as they did years before. I still think most of the people who
hang out there are a cool bunch, despite the changed atmosphere. :-)
The same is true of comp.sys.apple2. This group is very different from
the way I recall it back in early 1992. Things do change. Still, I almost
think nothing of the changes on #AppleIIgs compared with the change that
has happened on csa2 (they're virtually insignificant by comparison). If
there should be any concern about getting something back on track, it should
be comp.sys.apple2...
