(Sorry for the delay in responding. Since my ISP started "upgrading"
their system, my newsgroup feed has become very undependable and
unreliable.)
Since "Brutal Deluxe's LemminGS" is a work in progress and not yet
completed, it's a bit pre-mature to start offering a detailed look at
features. After all, it just recently entered the beta-test phase,
and at this point, I have absolutely no idea when the game will be
completed. It could be a matter of a few weeks, or a few months. But,
since programming is more of an art-form than a science, I'd rather
not even try to predict when Brutal Deluxe will complete the game.
As some background...Brutal Deluxe started work on the game in March,
1996. By July, they'd supplied me with a version that I demoed at
KansasFest; that July '96 version wasn't at all playable, but enough
of it was there that people could get a general sense of the "look
and feel" of the game. Jump ahead a few months to October 96, and
that's when Brutal Deluxe chose a small team to beta test the
program.
As of this week, beta testers have been sent the first 50 levels.
Initially, we received the first 30 levels, and those introductory
1-30 levels are relatively easy to solve, yet they are thought
provoking and challenging. Levels 31-50 seem to be even more thought
provoking and certainly much more challenging.
