        Take the cover back off.  At the bottom right edge (right?  at the
same corner as where the power switch is when the cover is on the
printer), look and see if the magnet might have fallen out.  This will be
MORE noticeable by the fact that the case does NOT have a dark chunk glued
to it, if the magnet has fallen off ... <B-)

        Two fixes, well, three actually.  1) Find the magnet down inside
the printer, and glue it back in place.  2) Find a supply of small bar
magnets, and play with them until you find one that works, and glue THAT
into the recess of the cover.  3) Bypass the cover switch (a small reed
switch on the control panel - requires disassembly!) and never, EVER,
stick your fingers into the printer if it's not UNPLUGGED FROM THE
WALL!!!!

        Note:  The THIRD is not really recommended due to the safety
problems associated with the possibility of the printhead assembly
whapping your hand against the metal of the chassis ...
