Just to correct you...

It was commercial from 1984 up until around 1992, when it was re-released as
freeware.
If the original Oz DOS archive had made it out of Genie in one piece,
instead of some low life simply re-upping the binary image to the 'net, then
people would know better.

In what ways? Most3.5" DOSs which came out (there are around five or so of
them) were all pretty much the same. Oz DOS comes with a lot more options
and programmer functions than most of the others, but the bottom line is
that they're all DOS 3.3, the SAME operating system.
