Before you start trying to spend $$$ on a new Ramfast chip, check to see if
there's a BASIC program called "STARTUP" on your hard drive.  If there is,
load it and list it (you may have to boot from a floppy to do this), and
look carefully at what it does.  Your symptoms are consistant with a
STARTUP program that includes the statements "PR# 0: IN# 0" (the BASIC
statements, not the PRINT CHR$(4)"PR#0"-type DOS commands).


Can you get *any* DOS commands to work in BASIC?
