As Neil says, SetStart does work. The START program in your System folder
must be the one from the Installer disk. Most likely, you have the Finder
named START right now. You can verify this from Icon Info. The best way to
make sure things are correct is to use the Installer, as Neil said :)

An alternative would be to use my Password utility (what an original name! 
;) This simply throws bootup password protection and a few other features
into the mix. It's not intended to make your system crack-proof, but it
works well in keeping my brothers out of my system :) You can snag a copy
from my web page..
