Apple can not die - it is an immortal product that has been discontinued, 
but will always be with us because of it's impact on the entire computer 
industry.

Because of it's simplicity, most electronic hackers will be able to 
repair it even without schematics (which there are lots) with junk box 
parts for next to nothing.

Software will always be available somewhere, somehow, even if it becomes 
a "blackmarket" product - I haven't met anyone in the cyberspace that has 
freely offered "copyright" segments, to repair programs that need repair.
and I'm sure that will only increase because of the general "way things are"
