Argh! How was the timing changed between the ][+ and //e, and why?

This looks rather bad. I guess it's time to start rummaging for a new
Z80 card, as I'd rather not have to lug another //e home via public
transport. (Ever carried something like that in a crowded subway and
bus? :) )
