The other reason that error could rear itself is if you somehow
managed to get the BRAM bit that sets AppleTalk to look for a card
instead of the inbuilt ROM/slot selection.

the only real way I know for laypersons to clear that is the Option
key on reboot and reset BRAM/60(50)Hz.
