According to ProDOS-8 Technical Note #23 (ProDOS-8 changes and minutia),
the P8 1.9 80-column QUIT code only requires an 80-column machine, not a
65C02 (enhanced machine), so it will also work on an unenhanced IIe.
[I don't have an unenhanced IIe anywhere to try it out on.]
The definition of "80 columns" is probably "80 columns as recognised by
ProDOS", i.e. a IIe or compatible 80-column card.
The only versions of P8 that require a 65C02 are versions 1.3 (by
accident) and 2.0+.
