All,
Through the kindness of a friend, I just came into possession of a German
"Euro-Apple" IIe. In the video slot (blocks slot 3!), there was a Microsoft
Softcard of a style I've never seen before. It's reminiscent of a Premium
Softcard IIe in terms of chip complement, but is not labeled as such and has
the edge connector in a different location (video slot is not set as far from
the slots 1-7 as the Aux slot on a US machine).
On the end of the card is:
COPYRIGHT 1983 BY MICROSOFT
R2E II
REV A
That's it for markings.
So, is this a euro version of the Premium Softcard IIe, or something else
entirely? If it's a Premium Softcard, will the same system software work?
Lastly, any way to get a PAL IIe to display on something available in the US?
