        As an OEM board, yes, the Apple ][ was sold/available as a bare
board.  However, the decision was made (late!) to NOT sell it retail as a
bare board.

        Remember, the Apple 1 was sold ONLY as a bare board, so Woz was
planning on the ][ to be available the same way.  (Note:  Read the "Red
Book", and you'll notice he ALSO planned for 16 slots ... )
