As soon as I saw it, I grabbed DOTW from cba2 and GSCii+ had no
problems with it.
As I wrote in an e-mail to David, Defender of the World is even
better and more phenomenal than I imagined it would be. Only one
level is complete, but I have a feeling it's going to take me a while
to figure out how to clear that level. It's great fun as it is. It's
kind of like Defender and it's similar to Space Fox.
And, like David says in the docs, it really seems necessary to save
up your Powerups so that you can be shieded after getting through the
asteroid belt.
Maybe if everyone wrote to David to tell him how great DOTW is, he
might be encouraged to finish the game <hint, hint>.
