Why? I don't understand that. I have 5 Macs (all running OS X most of
the time) in my apartment that I use for different tasks. It's no
problem keeping them all going.
The problem is not just keeping N computers running properly, it's
keeping each user's computers "synced" for email, news, downloads,
etc.
It seems like this problem would be common enough that there would
be good, easy-to-use tools for dealing with it, but with the many
different readers and file sorting disciplines, I haven't found one.
FWIW, all five computers are quite reliable and seldom require any
care (except for making them act the same as described above).
