So? It's pretty stupid to gripe about a company which makes both hardware
and software, and going with people who farm out the OS and build only
hardware, and getting software from a company who says bug the hardware
company for technical support. Of course, I think it's stupid to gripe about
a company which has brought so much innovation to the industry and praise
a company which has to buy out companies or products or blatantly copy someone
else's in order to have any products.

How much support do you think Microsoft would give intel processors if the
last in the series debuted in '85, as in the case of 6500s?

Does Ford still sell/support the Model T, the car that made them a big
company? They seem to be doing well in the car market just the same. On the
other hand, just imagine how well they would compete now if they were still
using 1920's car technology.

By your logic, the Apple ][ should have never been supported since Apple I's
were outselling Apple ][s 5:1 at the ]['s introduction.

For another perspective on Apple's dropping support for old systems, check
out the jubilation in comp.sys.mac.system over the announcement that 68000
support is ending. Some people look forward, not back.
