My 486-160 is connected to my 12MHz GS.
(com1 to GS's serial port 1)

It works.  I'd suggest using a cable that supports hardware handshaking.
So you can get top speed out of it.   I use ProTERM on the GS and
HyperTerminal <bleh> on the PC.  Telemate for Windows has problems with
direct connect setups.  <drat!>

HFS formatted?  Yes.  ProDOS formatted, NO.  HFS you could use the Mac
emulator Executor (and maybe other software).  Another option is format it PC.
You could use MTOOLS (name?) on the GS to read/write it.

At one time I heard rumblings of a driver for Linux to read ProDOS disks but
but nothing ever came of it.
