Serial cards are marginally more useful on Apple IIs- you can
connect a printer or a modem to them; parallel cards can't do
that. Parallel cards are needed for some printers like a number in the
HP line, but if you don't have a GS, you're likely better off with
serial.

The comp.sys.apple2 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) post was
posted here on the first of the month. Your local news server _should_
still have a copy, as the posting was configured to expire in a
month. If it is not available, please contact your local news admin to
help fix your feed. If you skipped over unread articles such as the
FAQ before posting (a very bad habit), you can read it on the WWW at
http://www.visi.com/~nathan/a2/faq/csa2.html

Reading the FAQ, you'll note that there are newsgroups for buying
and selling Apple II stuff, comp.sys.apple2.marketplace.
Alternatively, there are a number of dealers that may still have new
serial cards in stock. New ones should have manuals; the Apple II
Resources www pages contains info on how to configure a Super Serial
card; go to http://www.visi.com/~nathan/a2/faq/index.html
