RE:Looking for H/D patch for DOS 3.3
Although DOS 3.3 is limited to a maximum volume size of 400k, it allows up
to 254 volumes to be accessed from one computer. Some early manufacturers
of hard drives (non-SCSI) supported that ability by creating up to 254
"volumes" on one hard drive. For example, the Sider hard drives (10 and 20
megs) allowed this. Access to the volumes was using the "V" option is DOD
3.3 commands (for volume number). Thus, in theory, you could fill up a 100
meg drive with DOS 3.3 volumes. Unfortunately, a lot of software didn't
support the Volume option, expecting Slot and Drive specifications.
