Joe - Someone recently offered me a 1.44 mechanism, and I just looked and
it's the same Model Number as you have. With that second string of
numbers, the first 7 are the same as on mine. But, where your last
numbers are -31, mine are -41. My guess is that number indicates when the
mechanism was built.
If you had an empty 3.5" disk drive case, you can use the mechanism.
It'll be treated as an 800k drive, unless you have a SuperDrive
Controller Card....in which case the IIGS will recognize it for the 1.44
that it is.
I got mine as a spare part. After my motherboard recently became
terminally ill and had to be put out of its misery, I decided that I
needed to amass spare parts, just in case...
