If you hold down the option key while double clicking a folder, a the
window will open and its parent window will close. This is called
"tunneling". Choose "help" from the apple menu for more useful tips,
such as holding down the apple key while clicking a window's title
will show a memu of all the containing folders, allowing easy
navigation. There are lots of useful features built into the gsos
finder that aren't immediately evident. The file "Shortcuts" on disk
"systemtools2" is also very informative.
For program switching I have been using SwitchIt! which is very
useful. Trouble is I have so many extensions running that my 4mb ram
soon runs out.
Hope this helps,
Anthony
