Parallel cards & serial port?

Thanks to everyone who recommended parallel cards for the GS.  I think 
I'm going to get the Grappler+, since it's supported by Harmonie, and 
everybody spoke highly of it.  I do have some concerns though...

- On a ROM 3, will I be able to print to the card with slot 1 set to 
  "printer port" instead of "your card" in GS/OS?  What about ProDOS 8?

- I know that GNO has print spooling built in, and I'll soon be a GNO 
  user to the fullest... will it still work ok with the printer card, 
  instead of the serial port?  Will it work with the card with the control 
  panel set to "printer port"?
