RE:New group??

I remember when I was a "new user." I brought home my first Apple IIplus
clone. I set it up and put in the DOS 3.3 master to start up the computer.
I opened the manual, and read "before you can use a disk for the first time
you must initialize it by typing "INIT HELLO"." I typed INIT HELLO and very
carefully formatted my DOS 3.3 master disk...

Of course, Mac users can be just as stupid. I work at an Apple dealer.
Recenty, a new user who bought a system from us was very angry, as his
computer "wasn't working any more." COuldn't find the problem over the
phone -- except his applications seemed to be dissapearing. Finally, as a
customer relations good-will gester, I went out to his place to set things
up again (without charge). After I setr things up, I set him down at the
computer and asked him to "work as you normally do." I saw him creating
alias' of programs he commonly use and placing them on the desktop. No
problem in that. Then he showed me how he dragged the originals to the
trash "as I don't need duplicates."

Sighhhh... "Don't do that" I said.
