Not really, since the foam also serves as an airblock to keep the fan
sucking air out of the IIgs.  replacing the foam with 4-6
rubber footses would not make sure that the air is getting sucked from
the IIgs; there would be a big enough gap so that it might start
getting too warm (very easy with a "big" system like mine)
