Do you know what AT command PMPFax is sending to reset the modem? If
it is only sending an ATZ (or ATZn where n is a single digit) command,
you should be able to fix it. Send the AT init string that you wish
to use to the modem then issue the following command:

     AT&W0&Y0

This will store the current settings in profile 0 and make profile 0
the default power on settings. NOTE: This might affect the use of
any other communications software that you use if the init string for
PMPFax and it are not compatible. Just change what you must to get
PMPFax working and hopefully everything else will continue to work
fine. You might want to write down your current profile 0 settings
first by using the AT&V command to view them in case you have to set
things back the way they were or to construct another init string for
your other communications software.

If PMPFax is sending an AT&F command (load factory defaults) to reset
the modem, then my advice above will not help you and the only way I
can think of to get around it is to patch PMPFax to use ATZ (or ATZ0)
instead.

NOTE: The commands I have listed above are from my Zoom 14.4EX manual
but I'm pretty sure I've used the exact same commands with other high
speed modems.
