Whoa...wait a minute. I was the one who said "can't we all get along"
and that quote taken out of context could be construed by some to
mean that I condone piracy. I do _not_ condone piracy. In reality,
that quote was meant to urge people to stop the flame war that was
going on (you know, Mr. Tigh Buckles, the AppleWorks user looking for
WordPerfect GS that you flamed, etc.). In summary, the whole point
was that "flaming is bad" and on this note, even Joe Kohn agreed just
a couple of days ago. The flame issue is not part of the war on
piracy, they are two separate things. Just a while ago, I gave the
same anti-flame message to Mr. David Edwards, who was flaming you.
Flaming has a bad effect no matter who it comes from and I will take
the same stand no matter where it comes from.
IMHO, there are two evils working here. First, piracy, which is
causing developers to drop out. Asimov's pirating of Joe Kohn's
Atarisoft titles is deplorable and wrong. The second evil is the
flame war. Countless users have abandoned csa2 because they either
fear being flamed or have been flamed. These include new users
who may be a little naive, but are also important because they
make the Apple II a viable platform (usage=viability).
Support those who support the Apple II. Support developers by
not pirating. Support each other by not flaming.
