The s/w I have is 1.0d1. The first place I found it was Apple Developer CD #VIII which I no
longer have a copy of, but I'm sure there was Docs about it on the CD. (later developer CD's
don't contain the introductory info (I checked IX, feb 1992 & aug 1993) There are also docs
about the s/w on the System 6.0 Golden Master CD but I lent that to someone, so I can't tell
you about it just now. The S/W is included on some of the Developer CDs (1991-1993) but was
dropped towards the end, but there is also a copy on the Golden Orchard (Digisoft) CD.

The AppleScanGS s/w only works with the original Apple OneScanner (6-bit grey scale) with
three input settings, and 4 resolution settings (75dpi - 300dpi). It requires the HS SCSI card
(I don't believe it functions with a rev C) and requires the driver (SCSIScan.Driver as well
as SCSI.Manager) from the system software.

The source code includes 'save' routines so I suspect that the save portion does in fact work
(although it may be that you need a save desktop DA to save the pix). Since I don't have a
scanner (nor a HS SCSI) in my current setup the program will run, but doesn't allow you to
work with files. Consequently _all_ the file menu items are disabled (except quit) so I can't
tell you for sure what is what. If there's sufficient interest, I could reclaim the Sys6.0 GM
CD and post the documentation file sometime in the future (or someone else could track it
down). But if someone wants to write s/w for any flatbed scanner, I'm sure there'd be plenty
of praise all round.
