I just noticed a "similar" problem a few days ago in my GSHK when opening
certain files. With extensions OFF the problem still occurs for me, but
i can get out of GSHK with a ctrl-t and cmd-q (otherwise, HANG). I'm thinking
it's a corrupted system software (seems to be an error message of some type
popping up).
I also just instaled GUPP, hoping it would solve the problem. no dice.
