Mr. Mates, I spent some time reading csa2 first and I have taken
many of your "constructive" criticisms. For example, this message
is less than 75 characters wide and there's no sig except what
the palmtree puts on every message. Although I disagree with you
in that I believe flaming is always negative, I agree that you
have the right to do with your software whatever you please
(see previous post in this thread).
Here are some constructive criticisms, however:
1) While you surely have the RIGHT to restrict distribution of this
software, WHY do so? Surely wider distribution and more users is
better.
2) Please don't flame. If you refrain from flaming, your
contributions to the apple community will speak for themselves
(excellent T2 modules, by the way!). Some people get turned off by
flames (myself included) and that does the apple community no good.
Especially if new users get driven off.
3) Constructive criticisms are better accepted by people if they
are presented politely (knowledge from personal experience). For
example: "Please keep your margins to 75 chars or less. This way
people can quote." (the word "please" does wonders!)
4) There is a link in your web page to the asimov site that is
offensive to some people. Is it possible for you to remove it?
Asimov has a bunch of pirated software including AppleWorks.
Thanks!
