Not just early ones. My upgraded //e has a CMD 65816 on its logic board,
whereas early 01s and ROM 0s have GTE parts. All the ROM 3s I've seen have
CMD chips as well. Chances are the upgrade kits were history by the time
that logic board was made, but all 01s have the place for the connectors so I
guess they kept putting 'em on some boards. In any event, I built the upgrade
from scavenged parts, it was never a //e in my possession.
