Internal PC modems would require _serious_ modifications to fit in
a GS case, for starters. You may start with a hacksaw. Then there's
the problem that the electronic signals for each pin on the slot
designs are rather different between the PC and Apple II. A welding
torch can fix that. You now have a piece of modern art, which you can
sell for enough to get an external serial modem. :)
However, should you have an external serial modem to start with,
getting a serial cable to the GS is all you need. Then, get some comm
software and set it up for the kind of modem it is.
