Note what I started to say above. I said my display is _mostly_
checkerboarded, and meant to put in a bit about the distortion in the
bottom left, but looks like I didn't. Basically, it happens to me,
things are fine, and that initial display is what's in the ram chips
when they're first powered up. As long as they get changed properly
to the blank screen, it's fine.
