It should work OK on all computers you mention above.
To find out about its max. speed, type ATIn, where n replaces a number between
0 and 10. I think ATI7 gives you rom info. When I enter that command for my
Supra Express, it says something like DPI288. This shows me it's a 28.800 bps
modem.
Global Villages CAN fax. My (good old) father has a Powerbook computer with
internal fax/modem (a Gl. Vill.) and he only uses it for faxing.
What a driver does, is just send a specific initstring. What will work best,
is to enter an ATZ, and then give an ATW1 (for extended result codes), and
just login to a BBS that has 28.8k for sure. The carrier message will tell you
at what speed your modem has connected to the other one. It may not be the
highest possible speed, but it gives you an indication.
With my Supra I always enter ATZ, then ATW1L1 (to lower the volume), and it
works fine up to 28.8k. However 28.8k connections are rare because of the
bad phonelines here...

Just call Global Village, or ask in a Macintosh Newsgroup I'd say. For the GS:
first call Paul Parkhurst if a GV will work with PMP fax. If it does, get PMP
Fax. It's GREAT!
