Canadian (NTSC) Apple IIe's also have a switch under the keyboard,
so users can toggle between English and French (although few people
outside this province speak French; the majority are in Quebec). Any
Americans wishing to do this modication can purchase a IIe CPU from up
north and they'll have the switch and motherboard jumper. All they'd then
need is a dual Video ROM (Mousetext one half, old character set the other).

I myself swapped my Canadian IIe CPU for an American one. I never
used the alternate (French) character set, and found the American one
had a _much_ nicer feeling keyboard than any of my previous ones. Speaking
of which, I would like to take back what I said about IIe keyboards having
a poor feel to them in a post several months ago. :-)
