AFAIK there are no character generation ROMs in the DW, so you will can
only print to the DW from programs which generate PCL 3 (Graphics-mode)
output.

GSOS uses drivers which can produce output to PCL printers, but I'm not
aware of any //e - specific programs which can do this.

If the Deskwriter could accept an Epson-emulator cartridge  you'd have a
lot more luck.

If you were to use a DeskJet, you could print to it in text-mode since it
has character - ROMs but... you still have the problem of getting graphics
output
