If you're using a //e, you need to hold down the Option key when using
the arrow keys under VT100.  A //gs doesn't need this extra action.

Also, you might want to get the latest version of PT3.CODE0, at the
BBS site.

Under PT3:  Misc:Pref:More:Attributes should have 'Reverse' ONLY checked.
