Apple III restoration problems

Hello,

After years of dreaming about owning one I finally got my hands on an
Apple III! I'm planning on restoring it and displaying it in the local
fall computer fair.

Unfortunately my heart kind of sank when I plugged her in and nothing
happened 8-(. The drives don't whir and there is no video or sound. The
power light does come on and a small LED at the back of the mother board
lights up as well.

There are three cards which came with the computer. The first is a
"Softcard III by Microsoft" which I'm assuming is a language card type
thing. No wait! It has a Z80 on it (didn't see it at first). A CP/M
card? #2 is a "Corvus Systems Apple Interface" which has a connector on
it (parallel?) There is another board called the Universal Parallel
Printer interface card.

Is the internal drive not supposed to be hooked up to something? Is the
connector under the drive?

If anyone can help I would GREATLY appreciate it!!!

Thanks,
Markus
