Corvus shared a harddisk between up to 5? Apple Computers, sort of central fileserver.

yes, of course.

You should pull the cards and check for lose connectors. 
The Apple III had bad problems with corroded or lose chips.
Try pulling and reseating all chips. At some point, 
Apple recommended putting some magazines under the Apple III ,
 lift it for about 2 inches and let it drop.
