The Mouse card will not work in a GS of any ROM version. As to repairing
the connector, it can be done if not totally mangled. A little solder on
the PC board should fix it. If not, try using a "Y" connector like some of
the game devices use. Lastly, there are inexpensive Apple compatible
keyboards available now as well as used Macintosh keyboards going pretty
cheap.
