Re: Clock, BASIC, and IIgs

On a IIe it's pretty easy. Most clock cards come with instructions on how to
read the clock from BASIC. I use the AE TimeMaster in several low speed data
acquisition systems and time off 1 second intervals by simply looking for the
time string to change (on the AE card you read the time through an INPUT
statement). I just bought a couple of NoSlot clocks from Alltech ($23, what a
deal!) and they also report the time to the second. I just glanced through
the little docs (not much to it, put it in, turn on the computer) and I
believe you can also read the time through BASIC pretty easily. I saw a
routine in Nibble about reading the GS's clock from BASIC, but I don't recall
the details. I know from AC/BASIC the GS's clock it really neat, I've used it
to time sub-second intervals for taking data at 5 and 10 points per second.
