Re: Input into Apple IIe

What a great idea!

I can't answer that with any authority...

: number 1. I was just given an Apple 800k 3 1/2 inch disk drive. It will go
: into the regular disk drive controller slot
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Do you mean to say that a controller card came with the drive, or that
the cable fits the controller card already present, or that your
//e's have an actual _port_ in the back panel?
: but the computer won't
: recognize it. Do I need a special card for the Apple II to use that drive.
I think you do, but I don't remember what it's called (help, anyone?)
: I could then use my Mac at home to input the pictures, save them in Prodos
: and IIGS format and use them on the IIe. by bringing them in via the 3 1/2
: inch disk drive.
Do you have a IIGS in the school anywhere?
The easiest solution might be, if you get the 3.5 disk drive working,
would be to move some GIFs to the GS, translate them to GS graphics
using available shareware or commercial conversion utilities, and then
copy them to the 3.5 for use on the //es.
: It is the VW of computers in
: my opinion.
What an apt description! Mind if I borrow that?
