It's difficult to tell just by looking at a chip if it has been burned up or not, unless it is visibly melted. If your board does have a literally burned up chip, there's a very fair chance that other compenents are damaged as well. If that part is soldered in, then it becomes a job for an expert. Sorry. TomZ
