   Disable the inits as in shift-booting? (Holding down shift while
the computer starts). If so, it's probably a bad init/da/cdev that's
hanging your system. Try manually disabling them until you figure out
which one(s) are bad-- boot to the Finder, select a init/da/cdev and
select 'Get Info' (apple-I) on it.

   For batch enabling/disabling, I'd recommend Bill Tudor's Initmaster
Finder Extension, which a copy can be found at ground.isca.uiowa.edu
in the directory 2/apple2/apple16/System/Utils/Initmaster.v211
[Blech... that's a .BSQ file, even though the file name doesn't say
so. It should be renamed or unpacked to a .shk file. I just uploaded a
copy of the .shk file to apple2.caltech.edu; when it's moved out of
the incoming dir, it should be in the addons/System/finderext
directory]
