Chinook HD reliability
G'day,
I have had a Chinook hard drive for my trusty //c for a while (if my memory
is right, approximately 4 years). In that time I have had the power supply
die twice. Is that something that other Chinook HD users have experienced?
What is the reliability of the Chinook drive? In both cases I had been working
on my //c for a few hours, turned the system off, and the next day, the HD
wouldn't power up. In both cases, the temperature in the room where I keep my
system went down to about 10 degrees C. Are Chinook HD's sensitive to storage
and operation temperature?
Given that I am in Australia, I won't get any support from Sequential Systems
(who make/distribute the Chinook drives nowadays?). Has someone out there
any technical info that could be sent to me so that I can maintain my HD?
Info such as circuit diagrams, parts, etc?
Thanks in advance for any help
Andrew
