True as stated, however, one does not load lynx ONTO (or into), your
Apple ][. It is a command that resides on your IP's machine and you
call it. Given this, you can use lynx from any Apple. In fact, you
probably could use it from a dumb terminal (with some problems with
display.)

You want an IP that offers a shell account and provides the lynx
command. If you have that then type:

man lynx | col -xb > lynx.doc

At this point you can either use one of the editors provided on your
IP to read the docs or download the file lynx.doc to your Apple.

Note that you have to change the end of line character from ^J to ^M
before it is readable and/or printable on your Apple.

To do that I use a command uploaded December 15, 1990 by Evan Ron
Aussenberg. It is too big to put here however, the code to do the
conversion is:

cat lynx.doc | tr "'\012'" "'\015'" > temp
mv temp lynx.doc
