The DuoDisk, when connected to a ][, "looks" like a pair of Disk ]['s to
the computer. The interface card is identical to a Disk ][ interface,
except that instead of the two 20-pin connectors, there is a short ribbon
cable leading to a single DB-19 connector mounted on the back of the
computer case. You do not need specifically a DuoDisk adapter...any 5.25"
Apple disk adapter (as for the UniDisk 5.25, for instance) will work.
Likewise, you can use a Disk ][ interface card, but that requires an
adapter cable. I hate to put him on the spot, but David Empson the Apple
][ Guru has an extensive file describing how to do this.
