Nathan,
: 1. I have a question regarding Zip Drive use w/Apple IIs:
: Is there any way I can connect my Zip drive (currently in use on my PC,

: it to recognize the drive?
Zip drives come in two types. Parallel and SCSI. Most PCs use
parallel. If this is the caseyKn I don't think you'll be able to connect
the drive. If it is SCSI then you need to have a SCSI port on your
IIc+. I don't remember if it has one or a card is availible.
: 2. How can I download II software on my PC and use it on my IIc+ (I have
: a 386 laptop w/internal 1.44meg floppy...)?
I do believe there is some software that allows an apple II to read
MS-DOS disk. An Apple IIGS with system 6.0.1 can read 800k MS-DOS
disk(ElLvs.Hopefully someone else will come up with the name. Otherwise
check the usual FTP sites.
: 3. I would like to use some of my old 5.25" software (my family also has
: an old IIe and a IIgs, so we have quite a bit of software...). What is
: the most cost-effective drive for mt IIc+? Can I port over the drive
: from my IIgs?
If you have access to a IIe and IIgs with 5.25" drives I'd say your best
bet would be to copy the disk to whateever drive size is on your IIc.
: 4. Last question. I recently bought (for $1) Merlin 8/16. What type of
: language is it (I only know AS BASIC and C++/Pascal for PCs), and does
: anybody have the manuals they could sell me?
Merlin 8/16 is assembly language. It is for 8 bit and 16 bit Apple IIs
