What is the quality of Turbo IDE?

I am considering buying a Turbo IDE hard disk controler form my IIGS or a 
RamFast. What is the quality of these cards? 

I have GsRamIII from AE with 4megs. The card has a chip (rom?) on it with 
a sticker that says REVA I. Does this mean revision I? I was told I need 
revesion D. to use DMA.

If DMA is not possible will the RamFast board still work?

How do I test if DMA is possible?

Sorry that this is a help post. I have read the Apple2 Faq but it wasn't 
technical enough for me.
